Winter Date Ideas

Happy Wednesday! I am off for Mid Winter break this week, so that means a mid week blog post. Since this past weekend was Valentine's Day, and I had to get creative about how to celebrate at home this year, it got me thinking about dates and fun things to do with your significant other or friends during the winter. Honestly, it is typically challenging in the winter in a normal year. Bingeing Netflix gets old pretty fast, and this year my usual go to dates of going out to dinner or to the movies are either off the table, or more challenging due to limited capacity. I do have some ideas though for either at home dates, or fun things to do in Buffalo that are outside.

  Outdoor Dining Dates

Two outdoor options for dining and dates I have that I can personally recommend are the Crepe Chalet at Coco Bar and Bistro and the Hygee Hut at Elm Street Bakery in East Aurora. The Crepe Chalet is delicious. There are a few tables if you want to stay, but of course you could also take them to go. They also have warm drinks which is a bonus. The Hygee Hut is amazing. There is the cutest hut outside with warm drinks, and you can order anything off their regular menu inside and eat it outside at one of the tables, or around the fire. Also, they are now open for indoor dining as well, so you could go in to the bakery, and bring something outside. We had such a great time sitting around the fire and enjoying our drinks.

Get Outside!

Every winter we try to get outside as much as possible. There are so many options for hiking or walks. It is extra pretty now they we have gotten some snow! You could also try snowshoeing or cross country skiing. Bonus: bring a hot drink!

At Home Dates

For Valentine's Day, I decided to try something new for at home date. I ordered a charcuterie board from Board in Buffalo and surprised my husband. I am blown away by the presentation and quality of ingredients, it was just delicious. We had such a great day eating it, sipping wine and watching movies. I definitely recommend, and I'm already thinking up other occasions to order one for. The small cheese board size was perfect for the two of us.

I mean, what makes winter more bearable than warm drinks around a fire?

I hope everyone has a great week, and is finding fun things to do this winter.
