Plaid Blazer and Pumpkins

Happy October 1st!

October is my very favorite month of the year. My one year wedding anniversary is this coming weekend, so October will always hold a special place in my heart for that, and of course it is just an amazing month. The weather finally starts to cool off, the leaves start to change, roadside pumpkin stands start popping up everywhere, and vibrantly colored mums are on every porch. These things really inspired this post! I get so anxious every year to do all of the fall things.

It was a truly wonderful weekend. We had a low key night in with our favorite take out curry on Friday, and then Saturday we went out for breakfast and then stopped by a local farm we discovered last year to stock up on some fall necessities.

I love stocking up on all things fall. We got several pumpkins for the front of our house, but I definitely want some more! We also got some amazing veggies, and used the butternut squash for a recipe for a family dinner, where we used it to make a creamy sauce for pasta with spicy sausage, sage and spinach. I love going for long drives in the fall, and also was lucky enough to go visit and friend and spend the night who lives a few hours away, and get treated to some of the early fall foliage. Next weekend, we are headed to the Adirondacks for a family event, and I cannot wait to see how the leaves are looking there.

Outfit details: I just cannot stop with the plaid in the fall. I paired this older plaid blazer from Target with a coordinating short sleeved cable knit turtleneck sweater. I just love the maroon, navy and burgundy colors for fall.

What are some of your favorite things to do in the fall?
