Fall midi Dress

Happy Labor Day weekend! The weather here in Buffalo has been a little cooler this weekend, and it is getting me excited for fall! Without fail though we have at least a week in September and sometimes October that it gets quite hot and stuffy again, and the first day of school is forecasted to be 80 degrees, so it isn't time to put away the sundresses just yet. So, what to do? Dressing in warm weather as a teacher can be tricky, but enter dresses like this one! It is the Universal thread line from Target, and I am obsessed with it. The silhouette, the color, the length, are all just right, and will transition nicely into early fall. The neckline has the cutest ruffle, I love the flutter cap sleeves, the midi length is just right, and the pattern of little white flowers is too cute. It is rust orange, which seems like a color we will be seeing everywhere for fall, and luckily I LOVE it. It photographed kind of red in the lighting, but it is definitely a rust orange.

Tony and I decided to head to Reinstein woods to photograph this outfit. We love going here as it is very beautiful in any season, and has miles of trails to explore. It feels very secluded, although it actuality it is right outside a suburb of Buffalo. If you live in the Buffalo area, I highly recommend a visit, it is very kid friendly and there are lots of events too, and even summer camps for all ages. In the winter they also have snowshoe and cross country ski rentals, so that is on my winter to do list.

Something I love about the Buffalo area is how nature and environment friendly it is. It isn't the first thing people think of when they think of Buffalo, but it really is true. I wanted to share some of the great events coming up for the fall, since I think people tend to really take advantage of getting out into nature in this upcoming season.

In September, there are several guided nature walks, including one to help keep the park clean. There are workshops for outdoor skills, and even one for early childhood educators. In a couple of weeks is their Festival with lots of family activities if you are looking for fall things to do as a family. Some unique events include a make your own Halloween costume event which could be super fun, and classes to make your own natural cleaning and personal care products. I am very interested in a workshop they are hosting in November to make your own Thanksgiving centerpiece. I should also add that the prices for the workshops, walks and classes are VERY reasonable, and even more so if you become a member. Even if you don't live in the Buffalo area, find your nearest nature preserve or park and check out what events they have there, or just go for a walk.

Outfit details:
Dress: Universal Thread from Target: https://www.target.com/p/women-s-floral-print-sleeveless-high-crewneck-midi-dress-universal-thread-153-rust/-/A-54609824?preselect=54573997#lnk=sametab
notes: I'd say runs large, so size down at least one size. It is meant to be roomier, but I didn't want it too billowy

basket weave sandals are also from Target.

My cuff bracelet is old from my mom, but the inlay pattern on it matches this dress perfectly.

I hope everyone has a great week, and if you or your kids are going back to school, I hope the first week is awesome. Thanks for reading!
