Lake House photo Diary

Happy Tuesday! This time last week we had our annual family summer trip. In previous years we have done the Finger Lakes, Virginia Beach, and this year we ended up at lake house in the Poconos in Pennsylvania. It was such a relaxing week and I have some pictures to share of this beautiful spot. If you are looking for a relaxing lake getaway, I definitely recommend the area.

Mornings on the lake were a favorite. We had this wonderful little private beach and dock at the house, and getting our coffee in the morning and taking it outside was definitely a highlight of the trip. It was so nice that it was not overly hot outside, and if it did get warm, this beach area was nicely shaded, so it was a great escape from the direct sun. These Adirondack chairs got used all day from morning coffee, afternoon sitting after being in the lake, reading, evening pre-dinner drinks, and fires and s'mores on the beach at night.

Being on the water is one of my favorite things. I find it so relaxing, both being in and near the water. I spent a lot of time on the dock, reading, sitting with family, and just watching the water and relaxing. Of course I also spent lots of time floating in the lake which is one of my favorite summer activities.

We did venture out from the house on rainy days, or in the afternoons to some local breweries and wineries, so I knew I wanted some relaxed, but nice outfits. While on one of our shopping excursions to local boutiques with my mom, we saw this striped Joules dress and we had to get them for this trip. It was so comfortable and relaxed fitting in the faux wrap style and a jersey material, and lightweight and fun in the stripes that were perfect for the lake. Here is the dress, I absolutely love it. I would definitely say it runs TTS.
I really can't decide if mornings or evenings on the lake were more of a favorite for me. It was so great to put a relaxed outfit on after a fun day, grab a glass of wine and have a seat by the lake. We always take turns cooking dinner as couples on these trips, so the nights others cooked, we got to relax. I had to bring my favorite sweater of the summer from Kiel James Patrick. I also made sure to bring my favorite souvenir from Maine, my Sea Bags Maine wine bag. I was so excited to visit their store in Ogunquit and discover their products which are all made from recycled sails. It was perfect for bringing some wine on the trip, and we purchased some on outings as well. My favorite was probably from Blue Ridge Winery which I think is definitely a must visit if you are ever in the Poconos. We had a great time having a drink and wood fired pizzas on their beautiful patio.

How beautiful is this lake?! I am already looking forward to next year's family trip! I hope everyone has a great end of the summer!
