July Favorites

Happy August! I cannot believe that it is August, but July was a pretty great month as well. After returning from Maine I got into my summer routine and we had some fun as well. Below are some of my favorite things that we did, as well as favorite outfits.

Shopping small and Making Bouquets

I have really been making an effort to frequent local small businesses. One of my favorites is Molly and Kate in the village of Hamburg. I picked up these eyelet shorts and I am obsessed. They are comfortable as well as beautiful and have made repeat appearances this summer. Easy summer outfits and hydrangeas are summer favorites every year.

Spending the Day on the Water

Something that has been on my summer bucket list for a long time is to rent a boat for the day and get out on the water, so my friends and I did just that! We rented a Pontoon boat from Collins Marina and spent the day on the Niagara River. I find being out on the water so relaxing, and this experience did not disappoint.

July is for Flowers and Food

First up, keeping up the shopping small trend. Two of these dresses are from local boutiques. The first is also from Molly and Kate. Can you tell I go there a lot? Too much if you're of the same opinion as my husband. I love finding a beautiful garden. The first is in Glenn Park in the village of Williamsville. If you don't go to Sweet Jenny's for ice cream, and then walk through Glenn Park, is it really summer in Buffalo?

Next up, I love summer cooking. We have made a lot of great recipes this summer, but this corn ravioli from Half Baked Harvest was definitely a favorite. It got a 10/10 from Tony, which is unusual for a not meat centric dish. If you make one corn recipe this summer, it should be this. Here is the recipe.

Finally, for me it isn't really summer until you've been to the U-Pick flower field. One of my local favorite ones also has a farm stand, and I love picking up corn and other produce there. We stopped at Henry's Gardens on the way to dinner for a little date night. I wore my new dress from another local boutique, Blush Boutique. Did I need another blue gingham dress? No. Or did I, because this one is light blue, tiered, and has tie shoulders, so you be the judge.

Eat it Raw at Shuck Shack

Did I eat enough seafood in Maine for the whole summer? Apparently not because I insisted that we go to Shuck Shack again this summer. Their seafood is amazing, the atmosphere is so fun. Is there anything better than sitting outside eating oysters and lobster rolls? I'm pretty sure there isn't.

We have some fun things planned for the rest of summer before school starts back up again. What is on your summer bucket list?
