The weather has been vey strange. This past weekend was quite cold, windy, and then Monday morning we had a dusting of snow and I froze my butt off at morning duty at school. Later this week though, temperatures are jumping back up to the high 60's. So, I was kind of cold shooting this outfit this past weekend, but it combines a few of my very favorite things for a stylish but comfortable fall outfit; a sweater dress, OTK boots, and plaid accessories.
I got this sweater dress on super sale at Old Navy around this time last year, but I have seen so many like it this season, but it is a classic look. I love the ribbed sweater material, the length, and the mock neck. It is perfect to wear to work. Sometimes, I find sweater dresses to be too short and I can't comfortably wear them without leggings, but this one does the trick. I love OTK boots, I actually would like a new pair but I love the look of them with a dress as well as jeans. Instead of a jacket, I belted a plaid cape over the dress that happens to have coordinating colors. It is also from Old Navy, but again I have seen them all over this year in a variety of plaids and colors. This outfit is comfortable, as well as work appropriate and perfect for this season.
Sweater dresses are quite popular right now, so I picked out a few at different price points to share so you can recreate this outfit.
Splurge: Kiel James Patrick Sweater Dress. I so close to pulling the trigger on one of these, but just haven't done it yet, as I can't decide between one of their classic sweaters as a splurge for the holidays, or one of the dresses. It is beautiful though, and looks so cozy.
Save: Jcrew Factory sweater dress in Super Soft yarn. I haven't personally tried any of the super soft yarn products yet, but I have heard they are amazing. I can't decide which I like best, the tan, black, or leopard. Looks so cozy, but can still wear to work or for lounging at home with leggings.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week, and remember to GO VOTE.
