Apple Picking in Plaid

I hope everyone has had a great weekend. Yesterday, Tony was nice enough to take me a movie I have been wanting to see, The Goldfinch, based on the novel. I know a lot of people did not love it, but I really enjoyed it, and was excited to see the film, since the trailers looked excellent. I really enjoyed it, although it hasn't gotten great reviews. I really liked that it was true to the novel, I loved the casting, and I enjoyed how they jumped around in time to reveal things to the viewer, although the novel was chronological. If you read the novel or saw the movie, what did you think?

The first day of fall is officially tomorrow so happy fall everyone! It is my favorite season! There are so many things I love about summer, but fall has my heart. I love the sunny days spent outside, and the moody days spent inside baking or watching movies and getting cozy. I love the lead up to the holidays, and the crisp weather. Of course, I also love the clothes! Today we went apple picking at one of my favorite orchards not far from my brother's house, where we had brunch first. I look forward to apple picking every year, and this is the first year I get to blog about it!

Becker Farms has long been a family tradition of ours, and I'm sure for lots of other families around Western New York. They have it all; besides being an apple orchard they have a vineyard, brewery, restaurant, fruit picking in the summer, pumpkins, a petting zoo, and family activities. It is truly a one stop shop for bringing your family for a fall day. They are even a wedding venue! We always pick apples, get some cider donuts, and walk around the farm and visit the animals.

We had a great time, including my brother and his girlfriend throwing apples at me hiding under the trees while we were trying to take photos. Days spent with family are the best, no matter the season, but I am so excited for more of these fall days.

Outfit details:
my tartan plaid hat is from Southern Proper, and is on sale! I am obsessed with it. I decided to mix the plaids in this outfit because I really wanted to wear this hat, but I actually love how it looks. My husband thought I was crazy though. I love how this tartan pattern will carry over into the holidays. I got it on sale last week, and good news it is still on sale!

My plaid flannel is the Universal Thread Line from Target, I got it last year for the holidays, and I love how the colors photographed in the afternoon sunshine.

My suede mini skirt is old from the Limited, but suede skirts are still definitely having a moment. It was too hot for jeans, but I love how this skirt looks with this outfit.

flats are from Express.

I hope everyone has a great start to fall, and a great week! Thanks for reading.
